It is this time of the year again when plant lovers across the country gather together to celebrate mother nature’s bounty and beauty. Filipinos are celebrating Hortikultura Filipina 2018 starting in February 2-11, 2018.

My fascination with bonsai goes across boundaries. From Oriental Mindoro to Quezon City memorial circle, I crossed the sea to witness Hortikultura 2018 within a day. It was so much fun! One of the attraction of this year’s horticulture even is of course, bonsai. These are the bonsai made by some of the greatest artists in the country. In this video, you’ll see the main entries in the bonsai competition section. The trees so absolutely amazing that I can’t to see the trees of Hortikultura 2019.

Indeed, events like this are hard to miss for a bonsai enthusiast like me. Every tree is nice and beautiful and one can surely draw inspiration from them. With the high quality of of work that is visible in every trees, I can say that many Pinoy Bonsai artists can now be compared to the works of artists in  the bigger bonsai stage. Recently, Noelanders trophy was held in Germany. I am looking forward to see a Filipino artists in their list. I mean, we have the license to join, just look at the bonsai trees we have now.
