Bonsai And Friendship

Share
For my friend Dunz, spending time with bonsai trees makes him feel relaxed and happy.. and we share exactly the same feeling towards bonsai trees. And I’m sure we all feel the same.
Last week, he came and asked if I could allow him to work on some trees for free. Irresistible offer so I said, why not?
I am always busy with work so I really appreciate his volunteer work on my trees.
Here are the trees he worked on recently.
1+ y/o Philippine holly (before)

Dunz begins by defoliating the branches. He had to be careful as its leaves are thorny.

Philippines holly (after)

Murraya paniculata, locally known as Kamuning tulis has been in this pot for more than 2 years. It’s time for some make over.

Using Dunz’ creative hands, here is the finished product.

1+ year old Streblus asper is a single base tree that appears like a forest planting because of a number of major (big) branches emerged from the base.

Here is the final product.

It is good to see that some of my collections are starting to take shape. Thanks to my dedicated bonsai friend who spent time with my trees without asking for anything in return.
More than the beauty of trees created in this hobby, I think that personal relationships are to be appreciated. Indeed, bonsai bonds people together in one way or another and that’s something to be happy about.
