A Mint’s Timeline In A Plastic Bottle

Because planting is so much fun and rewarding specially when you witnessed the plant’s timeline, I made a challenge for myself.
The goal is to see how much growth will develop considering the current weather (summer) using a planter that has the ability to store water.
The magic begins on the day this mint was planted to a new pot. It was May 20, 2014.  Considering the hot summer season, my thought of its success rate is very slim.  For more the 2 weeks after planting, there is literally no rain or even cloudy sky to somehow keep it cool.  But thanks to this idea (see below picture) of planting using a plastic bottle.
Since I am always away from the garden, I won’t have time to water it daily.  But because of the water being deposited at the bottom of the bottle container, the plant did not have a hard time sourcing for water.  As a result, the soil’s moisture is maintained and the plant continued to grow as usual.
And now, 1 month later and it has reached the height of 7 inches.  For a month the plant a shown a great success but let’s see what happens if given a month more.
