Who wants to go to USA, Canada, UK, New Zealand, Australia to study and at the same time work and earn there?  That’s every Filipino’s dream.  And if you love nature, have a background in agriculture, maybe this opportunity is for you.

Ever heard of Communicating for Agriculture Education Programs?  Well, I never heard this thing before until I came across this ad in FB.  I checked their website caep.org and sent them an email to find out if this program is available for Filipino Applicants.  After 48 hours I received a response and they said “Yes”.  The program is open for Philippine applicants and below is the email I got from them.

Thank you for your message and interest in CAEP.  Yes, CAEP program is available for Philippine applicants.  Below is the CAEP program criteria, requirements, costs/fees and steps to get your started with your electronic application; if qualified.  CAEP agricultural training programs are paid programs via a “stipend” fee; the equivalent to a paycheck.  You get paid while you train and learn new skills!!!

CAEP – WHO WE ARE
CAEP is an International Internship and Training program that has been designated by the US State Department to sponsor J-1 visa applications to qualified participants.  This is not a work visa, it’s a cultural exchange training visa where you come to the US to experience our culture and learn new skills. While CAEP is the sponsor of the visa, host business members of our organization actually carry out the training program.   Inasmuch CAEP is an international training program that gives you the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while learning a new culture in another part of the world.  Whether you are seeking vocational training to enhance your existing skills, or if you wish to prepare yourself for a job in agriculture, horticulture, enology, equine or western equine, CAEP has a wide variety of international training programs sure to match your needs.  To begin an application for any of our training programs you must meet the following CAEP requirements and/or criteria:
 
CRITERIA
-You must be between the ages of 18-30 years of age.
-You must have a desire to learn more about your intended program.
-You must be able to handle living in a foreign country for an extended period of time away from family and friends, and the desire to learn more about the language and culture.
-Also you must have the ability to speak and understand English well enough to successfully learn from your experience.  A mid-level of English comprehension and written skills are required.
-You need to be pursing an university degree or have already acquired one, or have five years of experience in the field you intend to apply to.
 
TRAINEE Programs
The applicant has a degree or professional certificate from a post-secondary academic institution outside of the United States and at least one-year prior work related experience in the occupational field acquired outside of the United States, or applicant has five-years of work experience outside the United States in the occupation field.
 
INTERN Programs
The applicant is currently enrolled in (and) pursuing studies at a degree or certificate-granting, post-secondary academic institution outside of the United States, or applicant has graduated from such an institution no more than twelve-months prior to internship start date. 
 
STIPEND FEE
The minimum stipend offered by our hosts averages U$1,000 per month before taxes + room and Board.  Our hosts are not required to pay for extra hours and/or daily meals (depending on the placement).  During the busy season your training will be longer.

6. Complete application with required documents. The following required documents should accompany your electronic application:
 
  1. One Reference letter  – Must have letterhead, dated and signed, preferably from a prior employer detailing work type, length of time and duties assigned while on the job. May also be from a school official confirming your character as a current or prior student.
  2. Passport– must be current and legible when scanned.
  3. Current Photo of yourself.
 
  1. Western/Ranch Equine programs require a 5 minute video showing your horsemanship skills (saddling/preparing a horse, mounting a horse, and riding back and forth).  Video clips are uploadable in our online application under “uploaded video”.
  2. Skype address (for use during required Skype interview).  If you do not have one, go to Skype.com and register your own, it is free!
  3. UPS Shipping/Mailing AddressMust have country code and telephone number for that address.*This information is essential and must be accurate for shipping Visa documents.
 
Upon receipt of your application (and required documents) someone from our Vetting Systems Department will contact you regarding your application and documentation to ensurecompleteness.  Once the application has been vetted and reviewed, our office will contact you to inform you of your acceptance.  If rejected you will see a red “X” marked in your application and you will not have access.  If accepted, we will request a Skype interview from you in order to determine your program choice desires.  Skype interviews are required as part of the application processand compliance with J1 Visa Regulations.  If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us at www.caep.org, our online Live Chat service for application assistanceand our Vetting department at vetting@caep.org, attention Y. FEES AND COSTS
Program fees and costs are as follows:
 
US $1500.00 Administrative Fee
Application process, placement, visa paperwork processing, pre-departure preparations, program monitoring, orientation and other assistance in the program.  Price reduction may be applied to you pending on program and coordinator evaluation of your chosen program.
 
US $180.00 SEVIS (Visa Fees)
Please note that SEVIS fees vary from country to country.  You may have to pay an additional fee in your country where the interview will be conducted. 
 
US $99.95 (Health Insurance)
Paid for each month in the training plan.  This premium is mandatory and part of the J1 Visa requirement.  This premium is paid up-front and it is based on the number of months you are in the training program.  One additional month of health insurance is required to cover post Visa end date to cover your health needs while you travel in the USA.
 
Stipulation/Cancellation Policy:
A US $430.00 cancellation/ denial fee will be assessed in case you do not get your visa approved by the US Embassy or if you decide to quit your participation after a placement has been found for you. This amount is paid upfront before we begin to process your visa paperwork.
 
Travel Costs and Related Costs:
Travel costs vary and will be your responsibility. Once we have found a placement host for you (and all necessary required documents are in order), we will contact you to coordinate travel arrangements.
 
Other Embassy/Consulate fees/costs:

Certain countries require an additional fee to be paid at time of your Embassy appointment.  These are usually “internal” processing administrative fees that are not related to the SEVIS fee you are required to pay CAEP for processing your Visa documents.  CAEP has no control over these “imposed” fees.  Please be prepared to pay those fees if expected in your home country Embassy and/or Consulate office.  These fees are also known as MRV (Machine Readable Visa) fees.
